A capacity layer for the next server
The AIC-CXL-D44 places DDR4 memory behind onboard CXL controllers and connects to the host through a PCIe 5.0 x16 interface. CXL does not convert DDR4 into DDR5; it provides a managed path to add capacity beside the host memory system.
When capacity matters more than peak bandwidth
For workloads constrained by total memory, an additional capacity tier can reduce paging, hold larger caches or support larger data partitions. Hot pages can remain in local memory while colder pages move to the expanded tier, subject to operating-system and platform support.
A practical expansion card
The card provides four DDR4-3200 RDIMM slots in a flexible 2DPC layout, dual CXL controllers and an independent RISC-V management processor. It is intended for host-memory expansion and does not replace GPU HBM.
Qualification comes first
CXL support depends on the server platform, BIOS, operating system and workload policy. A PCIe slot alone is not enough. Customers should validate module compatibility, thermals, software behavior and supply requirements before deployment.
